The student should be familiar with the system of the German and Ukrainian languages, have practical knowledge of German and Ukrainian grammar, and possess skills in comparing grammatical patterns at the level of one and two languages.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to provide a comparative description of the grammatical systems of the German and Ukrainian languages, to establish and analyze their similarities and differences, and to identify one-to-one and multilevel correspondences of specific grammatical phenomena in the compared languages. This discipline serves as the final stage of grammar study. The lecture material focuses on exploring the common and distinct features of grammatical patterns in German and Ukrainian, familiarizing students with types of grammatical transformations in translation, and methods of expressing modality. The practical sessions aim to develop skills in establishing grammatical correspondences based on semantic-syntactic function, lexical content, and stylistic-expressive function of constructions, as well as translation of sentences containing complex grammatical structures from German to Ukrainian and vice versa.
