Learning outcomes
PLO 1. To assess individual academic and scientific-professional activity, to build and implement an effective strategy of self-development and professional self-improvement. PLO 2. To demonstrate an adequate level of national and foreign languages (English) mastery to perform written and spoken communication, namely in situations of professional and scientific communication; to present the results of their studies in the national and foreign languages (English). PLO 3., 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12,13, 14, 15, 16 PLO 17. To plan, organize, perform, and present the research and or innovative developments in the field of applied linguistics. PLO 18. To present the results of one’s research to the academic community in academic publications or presentations at conferences, round tables, seminars, etc.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To be eligible for this course students are required: To know current issues and methods of research and development of practical linguistic applications in the fields of editing / translation / communication (Internet communication) / linguistic expertise / automatic natural language processing. To be able to work with scientific information in the fields of editing / translation / communication (Internet communication) / linguistic expertise / automatic natural language processing, process it, make generalizations and conclusions regarding trends in the industry.
Course content
The master's qualification work is part of the research component of the educational program and is the final summary of students' research work aimed at deepening special skills and knowledge of an innovative nature, analytical and creative application of this knowledge, and the production of new knowledge to solve actual problems of Applied Linguistics. If the student chooses one of the elective blocks of disciplines, the topic of the qualification work may be selected on the problems of Applied Linguistics of the elective block (linguistic expertise or computer linguistics).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Public defense of the Master's Work takes place in the form of a presentation using various forms of report visualization (graphs, tables, drawings, etc.) as well as technical means (slides, multimedia projectors, audio, video equipment, computers, etc.). If the work involves the creation of a linguistic information product, a demonstration of its work is obligatory.
Assessment methods and criteria
The Master's Work is submitted to the Examination Committee in written form according to the approved form along with other accompanying documents: an explanatory note (a brief description of the general characteristics and main content of the work); the supervisor's feedback; a review. At the public defense, the supervisor's feedback and the review of the Master's Work are announced and the student gives answers to questions from the members of the Committee and comments from the supervisor and reviewer. The Master's Work is graded according to a 100-point scale, taking into account the sum of the points put up by the supervisor, reviewer, and Examination Committee according to the approved assessment criteria.
