Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the courses "History of Pedagogy", "Introduction to the Specialty"; knowledge of the theoretical basis of the formation and development of pedagogy as a science; ability to use famous classics and modern teachers’ experience of pedagogical activity in the system of secondary education; skills of selection and choice of educational information, its systematization, generalization.
Course content
Familiarization of students with the theory and practice of teaching, upbringing, management of educational institutions; formation and development of abilities and skills necessary for the future teaching activities, formation of competencies of scientific and pedagogical activities of the future specialist. The course reveals basics of organizing influence on the pupils’ personality in the process of their education, training and upbringing. The content of the course includes theoretical and methodological fundamentals of science, its conceptual and categorical apparatus, scientific fundamentals of didactics, the content of education, methods, forms of organization, teaching aids, evaluation of pupils achievement; scientific bases of upbringing, its essence, principles, content, methods, means and forms of organization. The course reveals scientific principles of modern school management.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning activities consist of oral answers, tests, self-study paper (creative work), and final paper. Teaching methods include lectures and students’ self-study.
Assessment methods and criteria
The form of final control is an exam. During the semester the student can score in general min 36 / max 60 points: oral answer – min 8 / max 12 points; tests – min 6 / max 10 points; self-study paper (creative work) – min 12 / max 21 points; final paper – min 10 / max 17 points. Min 24 / max 40 points are allocated for the exam.
