Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the "General Linguistics" and "Theoretical English Grammar" courses. 2. Possession of linguistic tools for the analysis of linguistic material. 3. Communication skills on linguistic topics in English.
Course content
The goal of the discipline is to deepen knowledge about the cognitive function of language, to acquaint students with the main issues of cognitive linguistics, to form students' ability to apply various methods of cognitive research in practice. The course consists of the following main parts: "Cognitive Semantics", "Frame Semantics" and "Conceptual Metaphor".

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Teaching and learning methods: listening to lectures with elements of feedback; preparation of presentations at seminars; abstract presentation of the developed theoretical material; creative and research tasks.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final control form is an exam. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student during the semester. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work and for independent work. During the semester, a student can get a minimum of 36 points and a maximum of 60 points. Accordingly, the exam is assigned a minimum of 24 points and a maximum of 40 points.
