Learning outcomes
PLO 8. Know and understand the system of language, the general properties of literature as the art of word, the history of English and the two studied Western European languages, and literature, be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities.
PLO 10. Know the rules of standard language and be able to apply them in practice.
PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, English and two other Western European languages.
PLO 12. Analyze language units, determine their interaction, and characterize linguistic phenomena and the underlying processes.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
A “Pass” in practical French language courses taught during the first four terms (mastery of articulation and modern French pronunciation, rhythmic-intonation design of utterances according to phonetic standards; reading and understanding of authentic texts, perception of native speakers’ monologue and dialogical speech; the ability to conduct a conversation on everyday topics and regional studies issues at the B1/B2 level, to participate in a discussion; the ability to defend one's opinion, to logically and consistently build an argument in oral and written form, to compose official business letters within the scope of the studied material).
Course content
The discipline develops students' speaking skills and abilities, teaches communication in French. At this stage of learning, the development of language and speech competencies of students continues, based on the principle of of thematic and intercultural aspects unity. The thematic aspect is based on personal and professional experience of the student and covers both everyday topics (typical everyday situations, family, hobbies, interests, work, travel, breaking news, music, movies) and local history (socio-political, economic and cultural). life, customs, rules of conduct, values and ideals specific to the community whose language is being studied). The intercultural aspect presupposes knowledge of the country's culture in a broad sense, covering all spheres of human existence. Phonetic, lexical, grammatical and sociocultural components are important factors in the formation of students' speech competencies.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Practical classes, consultations, individual work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Term assessment (maximum positive score - 60 points -/ minimum positive score - 36 points):
• answer at the practicalclass, addition– 9/6 points
• oral presentation, participation in discussions at practical classes, presentation – 15//9 points
• written work, essay - 15/9 points
• work in creative microgroups (preparation of audio, video, graphic materials) – 6/3 points;
• tests, module tests- 15/9 points
The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam: The maximum number of points for the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points (positive assessment) that are added to the term ones is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam). Assessment is conducted in a mixed (written-oral) form: it consists of a final written work and an oral answer. Each part is evaluated with 20 points (50% of the total evaluation - 40 points), of which 12 points constitute the minimum for the positive evaluation.
