Learning outcomes
PLO 9. Describe theoretical foundations (concepts, categories, principles, basic concepts, etc.) and applied aspects of the Russian language and literature. Collect and systematise linguistic and literary facts, interpret texts of different styles and genres. Carry out a scientific analysis of linguistic and literary material, interpret and structure it taking into account classical and modern methodological principles, formulate generalisations based on independently processed data. Explain the existence of specific philological issues and one's own point of view on them and its justification to both specialists and the general public, including students, in an accessible and reasoned manner.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The ability to use the acquired skills of analysing units in formal grammar, successful mastery of the disciplines "Practical Course of Russian. Professional level", "Russian language in modern scientific paradigms". Proficiency in Russian at a level that allows you to communicate in all areas of activity.
Course content
The discipline gives students an idea of the peculiarities of functional grammar; introduces the characteristics of all language categories that are essential for speech activity. The discipline also generalises, systemises and deepens knowledge about the functioning of individual lexical and grammatical systems, gives undergraduates a special view of sentence statements that ensure communication in different situations, language means of expressing functional and semantic categories and various semantic relations in a sentence, the structure of a sentence, ways of expressing the subject and predicate, word order and other stylistic (expressive) means of designing a Russian sentence in accordance with a specific communicative task.

Lectures, seminars, independent work. Method of problem-based teaching; independent work with scientific literature; theoretical and practical teaching methods; partially search methods, illustrative methods; conversation; active teaching methods; independent collection and analysis of information (in written form), observation of language and speech; work with scientific and reference literature; project method in the form of work with information; observation, ACS (analysis of essential for speech activity characteristics of all language categories of grammatical units, etc. characteristics of all linguistic categories of grammatical units, etc.); analysis of specific situations, explanation, prediction of difficulties and errors in the use of individual grammatical units in speech; group work technologies.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral answers at practical classes, participation in discussions, current written work, analysis of the results of written independent work, collection and/or consolidation of information necessary to describe grammar units in terms of speech use, its analysis (by topic), CMC, exam. Assessment of students' knowledge and skills is carried out systematically, in accordance with the thematic plan of lectures and seminars. The assessment criteria for each type of assignment are listed in the discipline's work programme.
