PRL 1. To assess the individual level of educational, academic and professional activity, to draw up and encorporate the effective strategy of personal and professional development. PRL 6. To apply the knowledge of expressive, emotional, logical means of language and speech technique, to achieve the planned pragmatic result and organize a successful communication. PRL 8. To evaluate historical achievements and the latest achievements of literary studies. PRL 10. To collect and systematize linguistic, literary and folklore facts, to interpret and translate the texts of different styles and genres (according to the chosen specialty).

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastering of the disciplines General linguistics, Introduction to Classical Philology and Latin Language; 2) knowledge of general information about the historical and cultural context of antiquity, its reception by successive historical and cultural epochs, the basic scope of the history of Ancient Rome, the basics of grammar of Ancient Greek and Latin languages; 3) basic skills and abilities to observe the evolution of the history of the Latin language, analysis and interpretation of linguistic phenomena.
Course content
Objectives of the discipline - to outline the multidimensional nature of the modern Romanian language, which originates from vernacular Latin with numerous substrate (Dhaka) - superstrate (Slavic, etc.) influences, the importance of ancient culture and Latin language in the formation and development of Romanian culture. The subject of the discipline is to study the laws of genesis and evolution of the Romanian language as a spoken form of Latin language, which developed under the influence of internal linguistic factors in the north-east of the former Roman Empire and as a result of interaction with the languages of Thracian aborigines (Dhaka substrate) and Slavic, Turkic, Hungarian and Greek ethnic groups (superstrate). The discipline gives an idea of the influence of the classical ancient literature of the Romanian tradition on the formation and development of Romanian culture.

Assessment methods and criteria
Final assessment: credit test. The scores for the semester comprise the points for the mastering of the materials for the entire course. The total score for the semester consists of the points for the classwork (which provides for independent work with the theoretical materials for the classwork: oral answers, reports, presentations, tests) and for independent work (preparation of reports, presentations). All types of activities for the semester are estimated as follows: - 100 points maximum, - 60 points minimum, Final test: LR 1.1-1.8; LR 2.1- 2.5; LR 4.1-4.4 – 12/20 points.
