Learning outcomes
PTR 2. To effectively work with information, i.e. to select the necessary information from various sources, in particular from specialized literature and electronic databases, to critically analyze and interpret them, organize, classify and systematize PTR 3. To organize the process of learning and self-education. PTR 7. To understand the main problems of philology and ways to solve them using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PTR 10. To know the norms of the Ukrainian literary language and be able to apply them in practical activities PTR 12. To analyze linguistic units, determine their interaction and characterize linguistic phenomena and processes that determine them. PTR 19. Have the skills to participate in scientific and/or applied research in the field of philology.

Course content
Formation of Ukrainian-language universal competence in the field of professional and scientific communication in foreigners, improvement of skills and abilities of a gnostic and creative nature necessary for independent scientific research. The bachelor's thesis is a mandatory comprehensive form of control and final certification of higher education students in the Ukrainian Language and Translation (for Foreigners) study programme. The bachelor's thesis requires 240 hours of independent work. The quality, content and defence of a bachelor's thesis determine the level of a graduate's readiness for future professional, including scientific, activities.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Choosing a topic, consulting with the supervisor, processing scientific sources, collecting material and its certification, writing the text of the research, designing the work, reviewing, pre-defence, defence. Search and partial search methods. Work with scientific and reference literature, printed and electronic educational publications and Internet resources. Methods of analysis and synthesis. Methods of classification and systematisation. Methods of observation, generalisation, abstraction, formalisation. Information and explanatory method. Communicative reproductive and productive method.
Assessment methods and criteria
Methods: step-by-step evaluation of the work by the supervisor, scientific presentation in the form of preliminary defence and defence. The criteria for evaluating various types of scientific activities in the process of writing a master's thesis (phased completion of the supervisor's tasks, processing of the reviewer's comments, defence) are described in the work programme.
