1. To know the basic life forms of organisms. 2. To be able to analyze and interpret research results. 3. Possess elementary skills - working with reference literature and presenting information. To know the Ukrainian language at a basic level.
Course content
The discipline is aimed at familiarising students with the basic fundamental principles of theoretical ecology, the principles of functioning of ecological systems, the peculiarities of the interrelationships between the biosphere and the technosphere, global and regional environmental problems, resource, environmental and economic problems, as well as providing students with knowledge of the general patterns of occurrence and development of hazards, emergencies, primarily of a man-made nature, their properties, possible impact on life and health. The introduction of this discipline into the curriculum is recommended by the University's Scientific and Methodological Council, since the greening of all spheres of human activity is a generally recognised priority of states and international institutions in the field of higher education.

Learning activities: lectures, practical classes, independent work. Methods of work: The method of problematic presentation. Explanatory and informational method. Interactive and communicative-activity method (lecture, conversation, survey, discussion). The method of educational discussion. Method of analysis, generalisation, systematisation of information.
