Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To demonstrate an adequate level of mastery of national and foreign languages to perform written and spoken communication, namely in the situations of professional and academic communication; to present the results of their studies in these national and foreign languages. PLO 5. To find optimal ways for effective interaction in the professional community and with representatives of other professional groups at various levels. PLO 6. To use knowledge on expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques in order to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize successful communication. PLO 13. To explain the essence of both specific linguistic issues and one’s point of view and its justification to experts and laypeople in an accessible and argumentative manner, particularly to individuals who are studying.  PLO 14. To create, analyze, and edit texts of various genres and styles.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The program is designed for students who have a B2 level of proficiency in the German language, possess basic linguistic terms, understand the principles of language analysis, and are familiar with the specifics of semantics and the functioning of language units at all levels. They should have practical skills in both oral and written communication in various communicative situations.
Course content
The task of studying the discipline is to demonstrate, through specific language examples, the various ways in which the speaker achieves optimal realization of their intentions in order to achieve a specific communicative goal. It aims to reveal the conceptual and content nature of different strategies in verbal communication and to characterize the role and place of various factors that have a direct or indirect relation to the practical implementation of different communicative strategies.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester evaluation: The maximum number of points for the semester is 100, and the minimum is 60. Distribution of points: Seminar response - 14 Contribution, participation in discussions - 15 Presentation defense - 16 Independent work with online resources - 35 Final text - 20
