Only students who have fulfilled all the requirements of the curriculum are eligible to take the comprehensive final exam.

Structure of the examination paper for the elective block of disciplines "Written Translation in International Professional Communication": Theoretical question. Written translation from German into Ukrainian of a specialized text (original text length - 900 printed characters). Written summary translation of a socio-political text from Ukrainian into German (original text length - up to 1200 printed characters). Structure of the examination paper for the elective block of disciplines "Oral Translation": Theoretical question. Consecutive oral translation from a German text of a socio-political or diplomatic discourse into Ukrainian (text length - 600 printed characters, duration of speech up to 2 minutes) using shorthand interpreting technique. Written summary translation of a socio-political text from Ukrainian into German (original text length - up to 1200 printed characters).

The exam is conducted on the same day. For the elective block of disciplines "Written Translation in International Professional Communication": Task 1 is performed without preparation. The student is given 45 minutes to prepare for Task 2 and 45 minutes to prepare for Task 3. For the elective block of disciplines "Oral Translation": Task 1 and Task 2 are performed without preparation. The student is given 45 minutes to prepare for Task 3.

According to the structure of the exam paper, each type of task is evaluated with a clearly defined number of points (maximum 100 points). The theoretical question - maximum 20 points; Written summary translation of a socio-political text from Ukrainian to German - maximum 40 points; Oral consecutive translation of a German text in the socio-political or diplomatic discourse into Ukrainian - maximum 40 points; Written translation of a specialized text from German to Ukrainian - maximum 40 points. Grading scale for the exam: 90 - 100 points: excellent 75 - 89 points: good 60 - 74 points: satisfactory 1 - 59 points: unsatisfactory
