Learning outcomes
PLO 3. To apply modern methods and techniques, namely informational, in order to perform successful and effective professional activity and guarantee the quality of research in a specific field of Translation Studies. PLO 10. To collect and systematize facts of language and literature, to interpret and translate texts of various styles and genres (depending on the chosen specialization). PLO 16. To use specialized conceptual knowledge in a chosen field of Translation Studies to solve complex tasks and issues, which require updates and integration of knowledge, often under conditions of incomplete or lacking information and contradictory requirements.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students should possess a lexical and grammatical minimum in German and Ukrainian within the topics covered in the curriculum for the 1st to 4th years of the Bachelor's degree in Translation. They should be familiar with the basic concepts of translation studies and terminology, have developed language skills, general knowledge, and a general understanding of phonetic, morphological, lexical, syntactic, and stylistic norms in both the source and target languages.
Course content
The aim of the course is to actively and purposefully familiarize students with the principles and foundations of Ukrainian and Western European translation-oriented terminology science, to systematize terminology knowledge based on paradigmatic, cross-paradigmatic, and cross-disciplinary approaches, to master the principles of normative and high-quality reproduction of German terms within various terminological systems in the Ukrainian language, and to acquire knowledge of interlingual equivalents of original terms, as well as mechanisms and methods for achieving equivalence between source and target language terms of different types.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Oral questioning during classes, translation and terminological investigation (translation dimension), translation and terminological investigation (lexicographic dimension), compilation of a domain glossary/terminology base, final assessment.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral questioning during classes, active participation in practical sessions - maximum 18 points; Translation and terminological investigation (translation dimension) - maximum 21 points; Translation and terminological investigation (lexicographic dimension) - maximum 21 points; Compilation of a domain glossary/terminology base - maximum 20 points. The final assessment is conducted in the form of an examination: Maximum score for the examination - 20 points. The examination is conducted in written and oral form: 1) answer to a theoretical question; 2) translation and terminological investigation. Each task is evaluated with a maximum of 10 points (based on the criteria of completeness and quality of addressing the question).
