Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To demonstrate an adequate level of mastery of national and foreign languages to perform written and spoken communication, namely in the situations of professional and academic communication; to present the results of their studies in these national and foreign languages.
PLO 10. To collect and systematize facts of language and literature, to interpret and translate texts of various styles and genres (depending on the chosen specialization).
PLO 11. To carry out a scientific analysis of language, speech and literary material, interpret and structure it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, formulate generalizations based on independently processed data.
PLO 14. To create, analyze, and edit texts of various genres and styles.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Proficiency in Ukrainian at C2/native level and German at B2-C1 level.
Skills in written and/or oral translation between German and Ukrainian languages.
Course content
The discipline includes familiarization with the professional competencies of written and oral translation in practice, techniques of oral and written translation, developing skills for preparing translation tasks, practicing written and oral translation from German to Ukrainian and vice versa using materials related to current and relevant topics/themes.
The discipline concludes with an exam.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The discipline includes practical sessions, independent work, tests, quick quizzes, practical translation exercises, and a final project (translation projects).
Assessment methods and criteria
The knowledge assessment is conducted according to the ECTS system, which includes a two-level evaluation of the acquired material. This includes evaluating theoretical preparation – learning outcomes (knowledge 1.1 – 1.3), accounting for 40% of the total grade, and evaluating practical preparation – learning outcomes (skills 2.1-2.3), (communication 3), (autonomy and responsibility 4.1 – 4.2), accounting for 60% of the total grade.
The semester's final grade is determined by the points obtained by the student during the performance of specified types and forms of learning activities and the points obtained in the exam. The maximum distribution is as follows: 60 points (60%) – semester assessment and 40 points (40%) – exam.

Excellent: 90-100
Good: 75-89
Satisfactory: 60-74
Unsatisfactory: 0-59
