Prerequisites and co-requisites
Possession of knowledge, abilities and skills provided by the standard of secondary education in the disciplines "History of Ukraine", "Ukrainian language and literature", "World history", "Foreign literature".
Course content
Studying the course involves mastering by the student of higher education a number of general competencies sufficient to achieve the goal and main tasks of this program, as well as sufficient to perform professional duties in the chosen specialty. Formation of special competences within the educational course "Ukrainian and foreign culture" is not foreseen. Program competencies are classified into such groups as: philosophical and cultural, research, communicative, managerial, ethical competencies. Thanks to the study of the educational discipline "Ukrainian and foreign culture", students acquire the competence to understand the context of the emergence of certain phenomena, phenomena, processes in the field of culture, orient themselves in the variability of the semantics of such ambiguous concepts as: "culture", "ethnos", "people", "nation", "national culture", etc., compare bills and normative initiatives that regulate the legislative sphere of the development of Ukrainian culture, master the basic principles and regularities of the development of foreign and Ukrainian culture.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminar classes, independent work
Assessment methods and criteria
Written work, oral presentations, presentation of independent research. Final control - a maximum of 20 points. It is carried out in the form of credit in in writing (test) in the last week of the semester. The condition for admission to the credit is the student's performance of practical tasks and creative work with a total score of at least 40 points. Students who scored less than 60 points on all successfully completed forms of control, to increase their grade to 60 points, get the opportunity to write an additional control paper and complete homework.
