Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of academic disciplines taught to students of the educational level "Bachelor".
2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, cytology, embryology, cell biology.
3. Ability to independently apply knowledge of the above disciplines, perform laboratory and practical work, work with scientific literature and electronic databases, predict and critically evaluate research results, ability to system analysis.
Course content
The course focuses on the genetic aspects of human reproductive health. The basics of human genetics, pathophysiological and molecular genetic mechanisms of their reproductive function are considered, special attention is paid to hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal regulation of the human reproductive system, violation of sexual differentiation processes and genetic aspects of sex determination. Examples of genetic diseases and abnormalities associated with disruption of cell differentiation control systems at different stages of embryonic development of the male and female reproductive systems are given. The separate role of use of modern assisted reproductive technologies (DTR) in treatment of disturbance of reproductive function at the person is considered, their efficiency and prospects of the further development for the decision of problems of infertility are estimated.
