Learning outcomes
Consist in students acquiring such competences as:
• ability to abstract thinking, analysis and synthesis ;
• ability to adapt and act in a new situation ;
• ability to generate new ideas (creativity) ;
• ability to work in an international context ;
• ability to apply the principles of the rule of law to solve complex problems and problems, including in situations of legal uncertainty;
• ability to analyze and evaluate the impact of the legal system of the European Union on the legal system of Ukraine ;
• ability to use modern legal doctrines and principles in lawmaking and in the process of applying the institutions of public and private law, as well as criminal justice.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
to know: international remedies for civil rights protection and practice of international courts; to know how: use their professional knowledge and skills on the issues of civil rights protection in international courts, public organizations, civil society institutions, non-profit and nongovernmental organizations; to have the basic skills: to independently identify and formulate a problem related to civil rights protection, analyze a relevant material in relation to the problem, and within a predetermined
time frame present the results both orally and in writing.
Course content
Forms of lecturing and methods of study of this course are aimed to gain an overview of, and an ability to critically reflect upon and discuss, orally and
in written form, current theory and research on the issues of civil rights protection; to provide an extensive overview of the international procedures for dealing with issues of violations of civil rights, to enhance their understanding of different aspects of civil rights protection of the states of the European Union and the Council of Europe.

Lecture, seminar, self-study work.
Assessment methods and criteria
performance in the classroom - from 3 to 7 points; addition to the performance - from 1 to 5 points; significant questions to the speakers (discourse) - from 1 to 3 points; reports - from 3 to 7 points; solution of the incident - from 5 to 7 points; final (modular) control work - from 6 to 10 points. Final assessment: written offset or oral offset (with the possible use of information and communication technologies). The final score for the academic discipline is formed by adding the number of points,
received during the semester, and the number of points obtained according to the final form of control
(offset), and such sum of points cannot be less than 60 points.
