Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the current family legislation of Ukraine, in particular, the Family Code of Ukraine as well as laws of Ukraine and international treaties of Ukraine governing family relations, special scientific literature, the recommended list of which is contained in this curriculum, and case law on family disputes. Be able to freely operate with the conceptual and categorical apparatus in discussing and solving problem situations; apply norms in the field of regulation of family relations, solve practical problems and draw up procedural documents. Have basic skills in drafting court documents and resolving disputes arising from violations of family rights.
Course content
According to the structural and logical scheme, students begin to study topics related to the general provisions of family law. Having mastered the general provisions, students move on to the study of individual institutions of family law - marriage; marital rights and responsibilities; determining the origin of the child; contesting paternity and maternity; rights and responsibilities of parents and children; rights and responsibilities of other family members and relatives; placement of orphans and children deprived of parental care.

Assessment methods and criteria
At seminars, current knowledge control includes: speaking at the lesson - from 8 to 12 points; addition to the performance - from 4 to 8 points; significant questions to the speakers - from 2 to 4 points; reports and scientific works - from 5 to 9 points; solution of the incident - from 5 to 7 points. A student who has not reached the minimum threshold level of assessment (24 points) of those learning outcomes that cannot be assessed during the final control may not be allowed to final assessment. Final assessment: written or oral exam (with the possible use of information and communication technologies)
