Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of physical and political map of the world, basics of general structural and historical geology, paleontology, petrology and minerals
Course content
Introduction to the principles of structural-geological zoning of continents and oceans. The concept of geological region is described in detail. Characteristics of the geological region is based on the synthesis of available geological and geophysical information. The structure of the geological regions of Eurasia, Australia, Antarctica, North and South America, and the oceans is consistently considered. It is emphasized that knowledge of the geological structure of the regions is the basis for predicting the location of minerals and determining promising areas of exploration for various types of minerals
