Learning outcomes
Mastering by students of modern methods and technologies in the field of electromagnetic theory, in particular, theoretical studies of electromagnetic fields in the near and inductive zones, as well as their use in near-field optics to increase resolution, in nanoplasmonics in the study of surface plasmons, etc.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To study the discipline "Electrodynamics of the near field" it is necessary to successfully master the following courses: "Higher mathematics", Special sections of higher mathematics", "General physics", "Electrodynamics and propagation of radio waves".
Course content
Basic laws of electrodynamics. Conservation laws and static phenomena in electrodynamics. Electrodynamic potentials. Reflection and refraction of a plane wave. Distribution of the electromagnetic field in a dielectric medium taking into account the near-field effect. Diffraction radiation at subwavelength apertures.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures - 30 hrs, laboratory work - 14 hrs, consultations - 1 hr, independent work - 45 hrs, total - 90 hrs.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: three modular test papers (up to 20 points each), up to 60 points in total. Final assessment in the form of credit - up to 60 points.
