Distance form

Before studying this course, students should know within the high school program information about modern Slavic states, their geographical location, history; linguistic and literary terms; facts related to the history of the Slavic peoples. Be able to work with educational and scientific literature, plan and evaluate their own work; use interactive and multimedia tools. Possess basic skills of critical attitude to the analyzed phenomena; interaction and cooperation in learning.

The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint first-year students with the main Slavic issues. The discipline "Introduction to Slavic Philology" belongs to the list of compulsory disciplines and is taught in the 1st semester of the bachelor's degree - in accordance with the curriculum of the educational-professional program "Slovenian Language and Literature and English". The propaedeutic course aims to acquaint first-year students with the main Slavic issues. It characterizes the position of the Slavic peoples in the modern world. The history of Slavic statehood is considered. The issues of ethnogenesis of the Slavs, material and spiritual culture of the ancient Slavs are covered. Students get acquainted with the main stages of development of the Proto-Slavic language. Particular attention is paid to issues related to the emergence and spread of Slavic writing.
