Р05. Understand the relationship between the structure and properties of substances. Р10. Apply the basic principles of thermodynamics and chemical kinetics to solve professional problems. Р15. Ability to use acquired knowledge and skills for calculations, mapping and modeling of chemical systems and processes, processing of experimental data. Р18. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of basic facts, concepts, principles and theories in chemistry.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Have basic knowledge of university courses in higher mathematics (integration, differentiation), statistical methods in chemistry (probability theory), as well as the basics of physical chemistry at the bachelor's level.
Course content
Gibbs, Boltzmann, quantum statistics and their application to calculate the thermodynamic properties of ideal and real gases, liquids and solids.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester control includes homework, tests and of practical work. The evaluation is based on a 100-point scale. The maximum / minimum number of points that can be obtained by a student during the semester assessment is 60 points / 36 points. The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam. The maximum / minimum number of points that can be obtained by a student in the exam is 40 points / 24 points.
