To be able to use the basic categorical-conceptual and analytical-research apparatus of modern political science. 10. To be able to describe, explain and evaluate political processes and phenomena in different historical, social, cultural and ideological contexts.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Prior to studying this course, students must have knowledge of the basics of state and law, which would give an idea of ​​the formation and development of society and its institutions. Be able to collect and interpret information on the phenomena and phenomena of socio-political processes, apply basic concepts in the critical understanding of events taking place in the modern world political process. To have basic skills of scientific research on search, critical selection and systematization of information of both applied and theoretical nature.
Course content
1 sem: Theoretical and methodological principles of the history of foreign political scholars. Political ideas in the ancient East. Political teachings of ancient times. Socio-political teachings of early Christianity and the Middle Ages. Political teachings of the Renaissance and Reformation. Political teachings of Western Europe during the revolutions of the XVII century. 2 sem: Political teachings of the Enlightenment. Political ideas of the era of the French Revolution. Political teachings of the representatives of critical-utopian and "revolutionary" socialism of the XIX century. Marxism - a new direction of political thought in the nineteenth century. Socio-political thought of Western Europe in the second half of the XIX - early XX century. Western political science in the twentieth century.

Assessment methods and criteria
Homework assignments are subject to assessment; works performed by students during practical classes, oral presentations. The student can get a maximum of 20 points for oral answers, 5 points for additions and successful questions in practical classes, 5 points for the synopsis of primary sources; 5 points for practical tasks. 10 points for the test in each of the content modules. Additionally, you can get 10 points for performing special tasks (reconstruction, revival, etc.).
