PLO 2. Confidently possess state and foreign languages for the implementation of written and oral communication, in particular in situations of professional and scientific communication; present research results in national and foreign languages.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) know modern concepts, directions and methods of media linguistic research;
2) to be able to analyze the media text, applying linguistic knowledge concerning mass media texts, taking into account the extra- and intralingual specificity of their nature;
3) possess a set of terms and definitions of the considered research epistemes, realize methods and techniques for the analysis of scientific texts in accordance with the acquired knowledge about the peculiarities of epistemic models in linguistic theory.
Course content
The subject "Actual research epistemes in media linguistics" models, systematizes and actualizes the linguistic competence of media linguists as conceptually formed scientific knowledge about the text. The study of the main theoretical principles, theories, concepts and methods in the aspect of their media linguistic interpretation is provided. The criteria of syncretic analysis of the media text, the complex application of linguistic knowledge to media texts, taking into account the extra- and intralingual specificity of their nature, are determined.

Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, students get the marks in accordance with the types of work and the form of the examination. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional measures. Students who scored a total of less than 60 points during the semester must prepare material on the topics, in the form of writing papers, scientific reports, or, if necessary, write a test paper.
