Learning outcomes
PLO 1. To assess own educational, scientific and professional activities, to build and implement an effective strategy of personal and professional self-development. PLO 3. To apply modern methods and technologies, in particular, IT for effective implementation of professional activities and ensuring the quality of scientific research in a specific philological area. PLO 5. To evaluate and critically analyze socially, personally and professionally significant problems and suggest ways to solve them, giving reason for own point of view. PLO 21. To apply knowledge of the mechanisms and forms of pedagogical support, organization and implementation of the educational process in higher education in modern conditions, and demonstrate a high level of teacher pedagogical culture.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To succeed, the course requires knowledge of English at the level no low than B2 of CEFR. In addition, students are supposed: to know the theoretical foundations of the structure of the psyche, factors and main mechanisms of personality formation; to be able to solve practical tasks, apply theoretical knowledge, own experience and educational materials when solving specific qualification tasks related to field of their future professional activity, and to possess the skills of forming the main regulators of activity and behavior in the group.
Course content
The discipline unlocks the meaning of the main categories of higher school pedagogy and the teacher's pedagogical skills, the essence of the learning process, highlights the peculiarities of student motivation to study, as well as planning of learning and teaching, conducting classes in large and small groups, and considers student assessment methods. Great attention is paid to the analysis of the general characteristics of a higher school teacher.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The modes of the course delivery encompass lectures, seminars and self-study, incl. oral answers, scientific discussions, reports? Ghfctical assignments and written tests. The teaching methods include explanations, illustrations, heuristics and research, which help develop students’ analytical skills and unlock their scientific and creative potential.
Assessment methods and criteria
The form of summative assessment is a pass/fail grade. The pass grade is given if students score 60–100 points for their work throughout the semester, which does not presuppose any additional assessment. The students who score less than 60 points are required to do the missing assignments, which may be assessed through written tests, oral quizzes or individual written tasks. Formative assessment incorporates students’ results for all types of learning activities, incl. self-study.
