PLO 6. Cooperate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, supporters of different political views, etc. PLO 8. Apply philological knowledge to solve professional problems. PLO 31. Ability to analyze textbooks and textbooks, select language material necessary for the realization of the goals of teaching oriental language and literature, Western European language. PLO 32. Ability to organize the process of translation from Eastern and Western European languages. PLO 33. Ability to use Ukrainian, Eastern and Western European languages in various situations of professional interaction. PLO 35. Ability to carry out professional translation at the appropriate level in compliance with the norms of the target language and taking into account the culturally marked components of foreign language communication.

Full-time form

1. Know: 1) the place of English in the world language system; 2) features of the English language as an integral system; 3) the rules of phonetic design (emphasis, pause, intonation) of statements of different types (dialogue, monologue) in accordance with the situation of intercultural communication; 4) functional and stylistic norms of use of lexical items of the synonymous range, idioms, expressions in accordance with the situation of intercultural communication; 2. Be able to: 1) produce prepared or unprepared monologue and dialogic statements that summarize and/or supplement the content of what they have heard or seen; 2) apply effective learning strategies in reading and listening; 3) distinguish between grammatical structures/phenomena when reading or listening to a text and determine their communicative meaning; 3. Possess basic skills: 1) realization of scientific research and improvement of their learning strategies.

The course "Western European Business and Academic Language" is designed to improve and ensure further development of knowledge, skills and abilities in a foreign language acquired within the university program and their activation for research activities. To this end, the course aims to improve students' socio-cultural, linguistic, professional and cognitive competencies, and to form a positive attitude towards to mastering the language and culture of the English-speaking world, as well as to increase the effectiveness of communication in English. The discipline is taught in the VII semester in the amount of 3 credits of EST8 (practical classes - 40 hours, independent work - 50 hours). During the semester there are 2 content modules and 2 module tests. The form of final control is an exam.
