Learning outcomes
PLO 1. To assess individual academic and professional activity, to build and implement an effective strategy of self-development and professional self- improvement. PLO 2. To demonstrate an adequate level of mastery of national and foreign languages to perform written and spoken communication, namely in the situations of professional and academic communication; to present the results of their studies in these national and foreign languages. PLO 3. To apply modern methods and techniques, namely informational, in order to perform successful and effective professional activity and guarantee the quality of research in a specific linguistic field. PLO 4. To assess and analyze critically vital social, individual and professional issues and offer tactics for their resolution, in difficult and unpredictable conditions, which require the application of new approaches and forecasting. Prerequisites and co-requisites
To complete the master's qualification work, it is necessary to first successfully master the first foreign language at a level not lower than B2, to know the basic concepts of translation studies, the main directions of special theories of translation, linguistics, literary studies, methods of teaching translation, to be aware of the regularities of the progress of these sciences in the context of the development trends of modern society, science and technology.
Course content
Writing a master's thesis involves identifying the aspect of a partial or special theory of translation chosen for research and finding general ways to solve them based on the analysis of the theoretical achievements of other researchers and one's own empirical material, which is one of the key scientific and research components of the master's educational program.The tasks of the qualification work are to prepare graduates to independently search for inductive ways of solving translation problems (methods, techniques, strategies, etc.), based on the analysis of the state of development of the issue and empirical material, the identification of contradictions in scientific approaches to the problem and their reasoned solution, classification of material, identification of essential features of a problematic phenomenon through analysis (comparative, contrastive, semantic, contextual, stylistic, quantitative), obtaining new knowledge through data synthesis, generalizations, interpretations, and other methods to supplement partial or special translation theories with new knowledge.

Assessment methods and criteria
The qualification work is submitted to the attestation commission in writing using the approved form together with other accompanying documents: the review of the scientific supervisor and the review. The public defense of the qualification work takes place in the form of a presentation using various forms of visualization of the report. The distribution of points according to the criteria is carried out according to the scheme given in clause 7.2 of the RPND.
