Prerequisites and co-requisites
successful mastery of Ukrainian and English at B2 level; - knowledge of the general features of the English language as an integral system; - possession of basic skills and abilities to analyze language in its systemic, structural and functional dimensions.
Course content
The course is designed to provide students with knowledge of the essence of translation and basic concepts of translation studies, peculiarities of translation of texts of different genres at different language levels. levels. The applied nature of the course is related to the development of translation competence by developing practical skills in text processing and transformation in the process of translation from English into Ukrainian and from Ukrainian into English necessary for the implementation of for further professional activities. This course is a basic discipline and consists of four modules.

Assessment methods and criteria
- semester assessment: The control of knowledge is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for the assessment of the learned material, in particular, assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge 1.1 1.4), which is 30% of the total grade, and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes learning outcomes (skills 2.1-2.4); (communication 3.1-3.2); (autonomy and responsibility 4.1-4.2), which is 70% of the total grade.
