Learning outcomes
PLO 5. To find optimal ways for effective interaction in the professional community and with representatives of other professional groups at various levels. PLO 21. To know the specifics of translator’s work in various fields (textual, media, audiovisual, web-space) and be able to use necessary tools and techniques. PLO 23. To be able to plan the process of specialized interpreting and translation in accordance to the stages of a translation project. PLO 23.2. To have the techniques of oral two-way translation and note-taking. PLO 24.2 To apply translation skills in real conditions during oral sequential and/or two-way translation of conversations, speeches, press conferences, negotiations, discussions, court hearings in a wide range of communicative situations.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Prerequisites 1. To know the basic categories of translation and the general principles of interpretation. 2. To be able to adequately apply basic translation techniques. 3. To speak English at a level not lower than C1 and Ukrainian at a level not lower than C2.
Course content
The goal of the discipline is the formation and improvement of general and professional competences, necessary for understanding the basic laws of the process of oral translation during conferences and meetings, studying the main types of translation counterparts based on work with a wide array of texts. The discipline belongs to the selection block "Interpretation" and ensures the preparation of students for professional translation activities. Practical classes are aimed at getting acquainted with the lexical-grammatical, syntactic and genre-stylistic features of conference translation, at practical mastering the technique of translation transformations, awareness of the expediency of their use depending on the genre-normative requirements and functional features of the translation of various types of speeches (speeches, remarks, justifications amendments, conduct of the meeting, etc.). Teaching and assessment are realizing in English and Ukrainian.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Educational activities during the semester: • practical classes on two thematic blocks: "Part 1. Translation of meetings of international and governmental organizations", "Part 2. Translation of thematic conferences"; • intermediate control – written tests on knowledge of lexical material, control papers.
Assessment methods and criteria
The semester number of points (60) is formed by the points obtained by the student in the process of assimilation of material from all topics (oral answers in practical classes; tests to check the assimilation of the lexical minimum; test papers of a practical nature, demonstrating the student's ability to perform oral or written translation ). The final assessment is an exam in written and oral form. The maximum number of points during the exam is 40 points. The exam passes in the form of written and oral work, the exam ticket consists of 3 tasks: 1. To refer a passage of the text in Ukrainian (in written form, 15 points); 2. To perform an oral sequential translation of the proposed text. (in oralway, 15 points); 3. Checking the lexical minimum for the semester (orally, 10 points).
