Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To demonstrate an adequate level of mastery of national and foreign languages to perform written and spoken communication, namely in the situations of professional and academic communication; to present the results of their studies in these national and foreign languages. PLO 10. To collect and systematize facts of language and literature, to interpret and translate texts of various styles and genres (depending on the chosen specialization). PLO 22. To analyze, design, and give reasons for translation decisions, decisions on the choice of translation tools and methods of quality assurance in specialized translation. PLO 23. To be able to plan the process of specialized interpreting and translation in accordance to the stages of a translation project. PLO 25.1. To apply written translation techniques from Ukrainian into English and German/French/Spanish/Italian/Portuguese

Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to form the theoretical knowledge of the students and practical skills of translating legal documents and contracts from Italian into Ukrainian and from Ukrainian into Italian, which is a mandatory component of the work of a future translator. Abstract of the educational discipline: The educational discipline consists of two parts: the first, "Components of professional competence of a translator of legal texts and contracts", is aimed at mastering the main morphosyntactic, lexical and stylistic features of legal texts. The second part, "Typology of legal texts", aims to familiarize students with various types of written and oral legal texts and ways of their adequate and equivalent translation. The educational discipline, firstly, continues the development of the terminological language toolkit, the study of specialized terminology, and, secondly, allows you to develop and improve the skills needed for a professional working in a highly specialized field.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, practical classes, independent work. Familiarization with the typology of legal texts and contracts, grammatical, lexical, and stylistic features of these texts. Familiarization with the types of translation of legal texts, the requirements for the preparation and editing of such documents.
Assessment methods and criteria
Throughout the semester, after lectures on relevant topics, practical classes are held, at which evaluation is carried out in accordance with the types of work and the form of control described in clause 7.1 of the programme. The discipline ends with an exam. The semester final grade is formed by the points obtained by the student in the process of performing the specified types and forms of education and obtained in the exam. Admission to the exam requires the student to successfully complete assignments and work throughout the semester. The final grade for the discipline (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) consists of the sum of the number of points for the semester work (minimum 36, maximum 60 points) and the final assessment - the exam (minimum 24, maximum 40 points)
