2. Effectively work with information from various sources, critically analyze, interpret, classify, and systematize it in order to solve religious problems. 3. To have skills in applying subject knowledge of religious studies for the purpose of analyzing current social problems 14. Have the skills to perform scientific research in the field of religious studies as part of a group, evaluate their results and argue the conclusions based on the research results. 15. Have the skills to participate in scientific and/or applied research in the field of religious studies.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before starting this course, students should know the main directions of disciplinaryization of academic religious studies; the main characteristics of religious teachings of modern world religions; basic religious methods, principles and approaches to solving interdisciplinary tasks; the history of religion, its main stages, as well as the typology and historical forms of religious traditions. 2. To be able to apply innovative approaches when studying the phenomenon of religion; find new sources and formulate research problems in the subject field of religious studies; determine the moral and ethical aspects of research. 3. Possess elementary skills of scientific research using modern information and communication technologies, study of specialized literature in a foreign language.
Course content
The discipline "Religious fundamentalism and extremism" introduces students to the peculiarities of the functioning of the religious factor and confessional structures in the formation of domestic political strategies for the development of countries and the legitimization of the activities of political elites at all levels. The importance of monitoring, analysis and systematic study of the transformational processes that take place in religious tradition, state-denominational relations and the spread of socio-political factors to update strategies for the influence of religions on socially significant events is determined. Competence is formed to provide reasonable conclusions regarding the consideration of the effects of the religious factor in the political, economic, and social spheres of life, to analyze the participation of religious organizations in socially significant processes from a prognostic point of view. The nature of religio-political movements and associations is considered and analyzed
