Learning outcomes
Study of the main trends and problems of the functioning of museum institutions, theoretical foundations of management and marketing of museum institutions in the conditions of the modern economy, highlighting the problems of creating and promoting a successful museum product, analysis of modern management methods and marketing tools of museum activity, training in practical skills of strategic management and marketing in museum affairs .

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know - basic concepts and terms of museum affairs; - the basics of Ukrainian legislation in the field of culture and museum affairs; - areas of activity and organizational structure of museum institutions; - the role of museum institutions in society; 2. To be able to - collect, systematize and present information about the experience of functioning of modern museum institutions; 3. Have elementary skills - work with scientific literature and source criticism; - use of foreign language professional sources; - scientific research and information management.
Course content
The course "Modern trends in museum affairs (with the basics of management and marketing)" introduces students to the main trends in the development of museum affairs, the application of marketing strategies in the management of museum activities. While mastering the discipline, the place of the museum in modern society and transformations in museum activity of the late 20th - early 21st centuries are consistently analyzed, innovations in various directions of museum work (educational, exhibition, foundation, etc.), the role of information and communication technologies in modern museum work are highlighted. A separate block of the discipline is dedicated to museum management and marketing, its features, significance for the development of museums in Ukraine and the world. The content of the course is divided into 2 content modules. Each content module includes lectures, seminars, independent work of students, which are completed by rating control of the level of assimilation of knowledge of the program material of the corresponding part of the course.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of the student's knowledge is carried out according to the modular rating system. The total number of student points is formed by the semester points received from all topics of two content modules (points received for modular control papers (in the form of tests); points received for completing individual tasks; points received for work in seminar classes, as well as points which are received for the final control work. The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The criteria for evaluating a student's answer are: • complete disclosure of the issue • the logic of presentation • use of basic and additional literature • analytical reasoning, the ability to draw conclusions
