PRN 2 Effectively work with Slavic information: select the necessary information from various sources, in particular from specialized literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, arrange, classify and systematize it
PRN 13 Analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and Serbian fiction and oral folk art, determine their specificity and place in the literary process
PRN15. Carry out linguistic, literary and Slavic philological analysis of texts of various styles and genres.
PRN16. To know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of Serbian linguistics and literary studies, to be able to apply them in professional activities.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the scientific approaches to the periodization of the literary process, the views of modern domestic and Serbian literary experts on literary directions, currents, styles, genres, coverage of creative figures and individual works; general regularities of the development of certain national literature, in particular Serbian.
to have basic knowledge of the oral folk art of Serbs, ancient Serbian literature, orient oneself in modern approaches to the analysis of literary works.
to be able to explain the main literary definitions, to carry out an ideological and artistic analysis of the texts of Serbian medieval literature, to determine the place of Serbian literature in the literary processes in the Balkans.
Course content
The goal of the discipline is to provide students with systematic knowledge about the development of ancient and medieval Serbian literature, about the stages and milestones of the formation of the Serbian literary process from the beginning during ancient times (about the first monuments of Serbian literature, significant figures and works of Serbian medieval literature, in particular the era of the Nemanich dynasty, the era of Despot Stefan Dušan, the development of Serbian literature under the Ottoman invasion until the 17th century), to form an idea of the course of the historical-literary process on the basis of specific artistic texts highlighted in the socio-political context of the time. The subject initiates a systematic study of significant literary figures and phenomena in the range of the genre system, the peculiarities of the poetics of Serbian life literature, panegyrics, hymnography, their genre and generic-species specificity, traces the dynamics of the coverage of these issues in medieval literary works. The discipline is designed to provide a professional study of the main trends in the history of Serbian literature from the first monuments of Serbian literature to the national literary processes of the 17th century, to deepen the understanding of the specifics of the development of Serbian literature of this period, to initiate the experience of professional mastery of the optimal amount of literary concepts and terms necessary for a full-fledged analysis and interpretations of the literary process and artistic text of the time.

Lectures, practical classes, independent work, exam
Assessment methods and criteria
Throughout the semester, after lectures on relevant topics, seminar classes are held, at which evaluations are carried out in accordance with the planned types of work. Assessment of semester work: 1. Oral response, additions, participation in discussions at lectures and seminars, blitz survey, current test: 25/45 points. 2. Control test: 11/15 points.
Final evaluation: Written exam: 24/40 points.
The semester final grade is formed by the points obtained by the student in the process of performing the specified types and forms of education and obtained in the exam. The maximum distribution is carried out according to the following algorithm: 60 points (60%) - semester control and 40 points (40%) - exam.
