Learning outcomes
PLO 4. To know and understand theoretical approaches to the definition of the history of foreign culture, its manifestations and forms of existence. PLO 7. To understand the factors of cultural dynamics, principles of periodization of cultural processes, specific features and characteristics in various national and historical pictures of the world. PLO 8. Analyze the effectiveness of cultural ideas in the context of art history, literature, religion, ethics, aesthetics, world history; use the space of cultural objects and phenomena to reveal oneself as a subject of the cultural-historical process.

Before starting the study of this discipline, students must know the theoretical foundations of the history of civilizations and cultures, master philosophical and culturological categories and concepts, know the basics of cultural analysis, possess analytical and comparative skills,
To be able to possess the skills of critical attitude and forecasting in relation to cultural events and phenomena. Be able to process and analyze cultural, philosophical and historical texts, analyze artistic and artistic artifacts, work with specialized literature and primary sources,
make generalizations and conclusions.
Possess elementary skills of inclusion in various social and cultural situations, and the ability to go beyond narrowly professional life activities.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to understand the main historical stages of the formation of human culture as a whole system, the mechanisms of its social functioning, the degree of interaction of cultural pictures of the world.
Abstract. The educational discipline is aimed at the formation of a historical approach to the logic of the formation of European culture based on the evolution of socio-political systems, science, philosophy, religious views, stylistic artistic paradigms.
Its subject is the study of the history of human cultural activity.
The main tasks of the discipline: understanding the processes of formation in human communities at different historical stages and in different cultural regions of complexes of social, religious, moral and aesthetic experience; analysis of the specifics of socio-cultural manifestations, taking into account the characteristic features of the development of society, material and spiritual values.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course includes 2 content parts. The first part of the course is "Primitive culture and ancient civilizations", the second part is "Historical types of cultures".
Forms of education: lectures, seminars, independent work. Throughout the semester, after the lectures on the relevant topics, seminar classes are held, which are evaluated according to the types of work (oral answer, addition, blitz survey, participation in discussions at lectures and seminar classes, creative team cultural project, assessment). A creative team cultural project is performed by students in the form of a presentation, students are given topics to work on, distribution of material between team members and a moderator, analysis of documents in the field of cultural policy, making their own recommendations for reforming cultural trends, public team defense of a creative task.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular
assessment of theoretical training – learning outcomes make up 40% of the total grade
assessment of practical training – learning outcomes make up 60% of the total grade.
Evaluation of semester work: oral answer, additions, participation in discussions at lectures and seminars, blitz survey: 80 points. Credit creative task-cultural project: 20 points. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (which synthesizes and independent work on processing theoretical material for classroom preparation: oral answers, additions, blitz surveys, creative team project) and for independent work (preparation of a report). All types of work for the semester have a total of 80 points. The discipline ends with a credit (creative team project) 20 p.
