PR03. Communicate freely on professional and scientific issues in a foreign language. PR05. Knowledge of the main theories, concepts and patterns of territorial development, including bridge; general geographic information about the region and the historical-geographical context of the development of the cities of Central-Eastern Europe; Understanding the relationships between the elements of the social-territorial complex of the city, its spatial organization, the main processes and goals of city policy; The ability to analyze social and spatial processes from the point of view of the scale of objects, their structure, location and other significant characteristics; evaluate dynamics, state, predict consequences; Skills of critical complex analysis of socio-geographic objects, application of special research methods, work with specialized English-language literature.

The course is aimed at strengthening a comprehensive spatial worldview, studying multiple manifestations of transformational processes in various geographical, political and institutional contexts, strengthening skills of socio-geographical analysis of territories and the effectiveness of urban planning policy. The discipline consists of two parts. The first is focused around the definition of socialist and post-socialist cities, "transit", post-socialist transformations and approaches to their definition and analysis. The second is aimed at analyzing the main types of transformations and their consequences for the development of cities, including from the point of view of the formation of new spatial inequalities, as well as the analysis of urban planning policy during the socialist stage and after its completion.

Lecture, demonstration, independent work, creative task.

The number of points that the student receives during the semester is the sum of the points that were obtained during the evaluation of the results of seminar classes, the survey and the performance of thematic control works. The survey in test and written form is conducted after the completion of the teaching of each topic. Seminar classes are evaluated based on the results of the student's preparation and activity, according to the schedule of practical classes. Thematic control works are conducted in test form. Final evaluation in the form of an exam: the maximum number of points on the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points that are added to the semester ones is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam).
