Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful assimilation of general educational disciplines and professional disciplines taught during two semesters of study at the master's degree. Students should possess the skills of scientific research, critical attitude to the analyzed phenomena, use of foreign language professional informative sources; to be able to plan and evaluate one's own work.
Course content
The master's qualification work involves conducting an independent scientific study in the field of linguistics. The work is aimed at checking professional knowledge in the subject area and is designed to finally reveal the mastery level of specialists who receive an educational level - master's degree, knowledge of linguistics, English philology, as well as the methodology of linguistic analysis of language material. The preparation of the master's thesis includes the stages of choosing and approving the topic, consulting with the academic supervisor, collecting material, processing sources and scientific theoretical-methodical and critical literature, drawing up a plan, writing the thesis, appropriate design of the thesis, checking for similarity and defense. The master's qualification test verifies and confirms knowledge of trends in the development of modern linguistics, current directions of research, the ability to independently carry out linguistic analysis of a variety of linguistic material using the latest research methods.

Assessment methods and criteria
90-100 p. The thesis is impeccable: it contains elements of novelty and is of practical importance, the report is logical and at the same time concise, delivered consistently, with knowledge of the matter, the feedback and review are positive, the answers to the questions of the EB members are correct and concise.Research results are disclosed in publications or tested at conferences. 81-89 The topic is disclosed, but there are certain shortcomings of a non-principled nature: in the theoretical part, the analysis of literary sources is superficial, elements of novelty are not clearly identified, insufficiently used informational materials, the feedback and review are positive, the report is logical, announced consistently, answers to the questions of EC members in general correct, the design of the work is within the requirements. 71-80 The topic of the work is revealed, but there are certain shortcomings of a non-principled nature: the theoretical part is not enough
