PR1 Be able to apply modern mathematical methods to solve practical problems related to research and design of biotechnological processes. Use knowledge of physics to analyze biotechnological processes.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the basics of general physics, according to the school curriculum in physics; basics of algebra and geometry, according to the school program and the course "Fundamentals of Higher Mathematics". 2. Be able to apply previous knowledge of school physics, algebra and geometry; solve basic types of physical problems. 3. Possess basic skills of mathematical transformations, differentiation, integration and operations with vector quantities.
Course content
Within the discipline "Physics" the basics of mechanics, molecular physics, thermodynamics, elements of electricity, magnetism, wave optics, atomic and nuclear physics are taught. This discipline is designed to form a deep and systematic knowledge of the basic physical laws, general forms of motion of matter, in particular, mechanical, thermal, electrical, etc .; skills in mastering the methods and principles of planning and performing a physical experiment, as well as calculating errors. The discipline is designed to form a scientific and methodological basis for the student to solve theoretical and practical problems in the field of biotechnology and bioengineering.
