PR01. Know the state and foreign languages at a level sufficient for communication on professional issues and presentation of the results of their own research. PR08. Apply during research knowledge of the peculiarities of the development of modern biological science, the basic methodological principles of scientific research, methodological and methodological tools for conducting research in specialization. PR17. Apply modern learning technologies for teaching special subjects. PR19. Solve scientific-theoretical, research and applied problems of biology by appropriate methods. PR39. Apply existing and develop new algorithms for research of various physiological states of the human and animal body, which arise under certain conditions of existence on the basis of modern data on physiological mechanisms underlying life.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the disciplines "Physiology of nerves and muscles", "Physiology of the CNS", "Physiology of sensory systems". 2. Be able to describe the basic physiological processes associated with the functioning of the nervous system. Know the principles of structure and function of the human brain. 3. Possession of basic skills of systems analysis, understanding of English.
Course content
In the course of studying the course the mechanisms of signal transduction, formation of membrane potentials, different types of total electrical activity and evoked potentials, activity of the main functional neural networks of the brain are considered. The dynamics of information processes of the brain is studied, the concept of canonical and non-canonical neural networks, the role of the expansion of the associative cortex is revealed. The organization and functioning of the main distributed neural networks of the brain (significant, central executive and default, attention systems, mirror neurons) and their manifestation in electrical neurodynamics are considered.
