Course content
Experimental pharmacology is the link between theoretical and clinical pharmacology. It distinguishes between physiological and biochemical (quantum, molecular) pharmacology. From the standpoint of biochemistry, this discipline considers pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Biochemical pharmacodynamics studies the mechanisms and localization of the action of drugs at the cellular, subcellular, molecular, submolecular levels. In this discipline the biochemical mechanisms of action of drugs belonging to the main therapeutic groups are considered. This is the discipline that today determines the progress in the development of modern pharmacology and contributes to the development of new drugs that are important for health.
