Prerequisites and co-requisites
The program is based on the fact that the teaching of English in the fourth year begins with the level of independent user (B1 + / Strong Threshold) according to CEFR and ends with a qualifying oral and written exam focused on its requirements for advanced level B1 according to CEFR at the end of the 2nd semester.
Course content
Discipline is a compulsory discipline designed to develop the ability to communicate in a foreign language and apply knowledge in practical situations. Realization of the purpose of discipline "Foreign language (English)" is result of complex interaction of four components: 1) English communicative competence provides development of skills and abilities in the basic kinds of speech activity covering reception, production, interaction and mediation both in written, and in oral forms; 2) socio-cultural competence refers to the ability to apply a set of sociolinguistic, regional and intercultural knowledge to achieve understanding between representatives of different societies; 3) pragmatic competence is related to the functional use of linguistic means; 4) professionally oriented communicative competence is the ability to use students' professional skills and knowledge to solve general professional problems in English.

Semester assessment: modular tests, current control tests, exercises for teaching reception, products, interpretation and mediation in oral and written forms.
