Course content
The educational discipline "Higher mathematics" belongs to the mandatory components of the educational program for training specialists at the "bachelor" educational level in the field of knowledge 19 - Architecture and construction with the specialty 193 - Geodesy and land management of the educational program "Geodesy and land management". The discipline "Higher mathematics" includes elements of linear and vector algebra, analytic geometry, mathematical analysis, and differential and integral calculus. "Higher mathematics" studies such fundamental concepts of mathematics as functions, numerical sequences and their limits, the limit of a function at a point, continuity of a function, the derivative of a function and its application, the indefinite and definite integral and its application, matrices. These basic mathematical concepts are necessary to prepare students for the use of general mathematical methods in further educational courses and when performing tasks in geodesy and land management, and also contribute to the development of logical and analytical thinking of students.
It is taught in the 1st and 2nd semesters of the 1st year in the amount of 180 hours. (6 ECTS credits) in particular: lectures - 42 hours, practical - 42 hours, consultations - 4 hours, independent work - 92 hours. The course includes 4 content modules and 4 modular tests. The discipline in the 1st and 2nd semester ends with an exam.

Assessment methods and criteria
The critical and calculated minimum points for studying during the semester is 20 points, the recommended minimum, calculated taking into account the specifics of the discipline, is 35 points. Students who, during the semester, scored a total of fewer points than the recommended minimum of 35 points to increase their points, have the opportunity to write an additional test and complete homework. The form of the exam is written and oral. The exam ticket consists of 4 tasks, the first two of which are theoretical, the other two are tasks. Each task is evaluated from 0 to 8 points. In total, you can get from 0 to 40 points for the exam. The minimum number of points that are added to semester grades is 24 points, i.e. if the student's grade on the exam is below the minimum threshold level (24 points), then the exam points are not added to the semester grade (they are considered equal to zero), and the final grade from the discipline is unsatisfactory.
