The student must know the current state of the field regarding the topic of the work and its relevance; theoretical information on the subject of the diploma works; methods and techniques used in the study. The student must be able to make an analytical review of scientific and technical literature; perform research / engineering development; draw conclusions based on the results obtained.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The thesis is completed at the final stage of study after studying the entire complex of educational components of this educational program and is based on the results of their mastery. It is especially important to carry out educational components related to the development of practical and research skills - research practices. The implementation of the individual educational trajectory of a higher education student is realized by choosing a thesis topic related to the optional components chosen by the student during the education process.
Course content
Master's thesis is a type of independent creative work of the applicant, performed by him at the last stage of his studies. The topic of the thesis corresponds to the current problems of the specialty "Applied Physics and Nanomaterials" and is oriented towards the goal of the educational and professional program "Radio Physics and Electronics", i.e. training a qualified specialist in applied physics in the field of radio electronics and electronics.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The thesis topic for each student of higher education is formulated and approved by the graduation department before the start of its implementation, it must correspond to the general direction of the educational program. The scientific supervision of the Master's thesis is individual, that is, a separate supervisor is appointed for each candidate. Completion of the diploma thesis is mainly the applicant’s independent work, but he has the right to be consulted by the supervisor and (if necessary) other scientific and pedagogical staff of the department. The fully prepared diploma thesis is submitted by the applicant to the department no later than two weeks before the day of the defense in the Examination Committee.
Assessment methods and criteria
The thesis defense is two-stage. The first stage is a preliminary defense at a meeting of the department. The second stage is a public defense at a meeting of the Examination Board the commission that conducts the final attestation of the applicant. Diploma thesis before defense at the Examination Board must be checked for borrowings (plagiarism). Both stages of protection take place according to the same procedure, the basis of which is the protection procedure the report of the applicant for higher education. After the report, the applicant is asked questions based on its materials. The evaluation of the department together with the evaluations of the manager and the reviewer can be taken into account The examination board, which issues the final grade. To evaluate the master's thesis, a point-rating system for assessing knowledge on a 100-point national scale is used.
