PR4. Solve complex problems in the field of biology, generate and evaluate ideas. PR8. Apply during research knowledge of the peculiarities of the development of modern biological science, the basic methodological principles of scientific research, methodological and methodological tools for conducting research in specialization. PR 19. Solve scientific-theoretical, research and applied problems of biology by appropriate methods. PR 33. Be able to use modern methods of microbiological analysis and the results of molecular genetic research to solve problems of genetics, ecology and biotechnology of microorganisms, including the problems of medical microbiology.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successfully master the scientific-theoretical and practical material of the complex of educational disciplines of the educational level "Bachelor". 2. Know the theoretical foundations of microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology and basic methods of biological research. 3. Be able to work with information databases. 4. Be able to use laboratory equipment in research. 5. Possess methods of analytical evaluation of the results of biological research to solve a specific scientific and practical problem.
Course content
The discipline "Genetics of Microorganisms" is part of the educational program of professional training of specialists of educational level "Master", the mastering of which creates the basis for mastering such special disciplines as "Molecular Microbiology" and "Microorganisms in modern genetic engineering technologies". It highlights the basic principles of the mechanisms of transmission and realization of genetic information in microorganisms, considers the interaction of bacterial chromosomes and molecular machinery of the host cell with mobile genetic elements and the role of these processes in the evolution of bacterial genomes. Except another, in the course of the discipline the processes of regulation of cell functioning are considered - from single molecules to global regulatory networks.
