PR06. Analyze biological phenomena and processes at the molecular, cellular, organismal, population-species and biosphere levels in terms of basic general scientific knowledge, as well as using special modern research methods. PR09. Plan research, choose effective research methods and their material support. PR13. Adhere to the basic rules of biological ethics, biosafety, biosecurity, assess the risks of the latest biological, biotechnological and biomedical methods and technologies, identify potentially dangerous organisms or production processes that may pose a threat of emergencies.

1. Successfully master the scientific-theoretical and practical material of the complex of educational disciplines of the educational level "Bachelor". 2. Know the theoretical foundations of microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology and basic methods of biological research. 3. Be able to work with information databases in particular scientific and methodological literature. 4. Be able to use laboratory equipment in research. 5. Possess methods of analytical evaluation of the results of biological research to solve a specific scientific and practical problem.

The subject of study are morphological and physiological and biochemical properties of pathogens of infectious diseases, factors of their pathogenicity, antigenic structure. This is a basic discipline that will acquaint students with modern methods of identification, detection and diagnosis of pathogens and provides an opportunity to master the principles of planning and conducting research to solve certain applications, statistical data processing and interpretation of results.
