Learning outcomes
The student must know the content of the main regulatory documents of Ukraine and international organizations about metrology, basic terminology; measurement methods in the field of telecommunications and radio engineering, errors measurements, statistical characteristics and parameters of various types of errors; characteristics and parameters of the main types of measuring devices; principles of construction of digital and automated measuring devices measuring systems. The student must be able to apply the basic concepts and terminology diligently; plan and carry out measurements, while evaluating the impact of different types errors; choose the necessary measuring devices for measurements; solve typical practical and experimental tasks that arise during measurements in the field of telecommunications and radio engineering.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
The educational discipline uses the results of studying such mandatory disciplines as "Higher Mathematics", "General Physics" and "Computer Technologies". Prerequisites: 1. To have a mathematical apparatus sufficient for carrying out calculations of statistical parameters and characteristics of quantities related to accuracy and measurement errors (on the basis of the mandatory disciplines "Higher Mathematics" and "General Physics"). 2. Be able to use a personal computer, run application software and manage them, based on the graphical user interface, to find information on the Internet (on the basis of the mandatory discipline "Computer technologies"). 3. To have basic skills in measuring with the help of simple measuring devices devices and processing the results of such measurements (on the basis of laboratory work in the compulsory discipline "General Physics").
Course content
The study discipline "Metrology and radio measurement" allows students to learn the main content of the basic regulatory documents of Ukraine and international organizations that relate to metrology. In addition, students gain knowledge about the main methods of conducting measurements in the field of telecommunications and radio engineering, the accuracy of these methods, the causes of the appearance of various types of errors, and the processing of the results of direct and indirect measurements in the presence of errors. Basic requirements for measuring devices are also studied, principles of their construction, characteristics and parameters.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, laboratory works, independent individual works, calculation and graphic works.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: during the semester, two written modular tests are planned. Other forms of control are the performance of individual calculations (homework) and laboratory work. All laboratory work must be successfully completed. Final evaluation in the form of an exam; the exam is written. In total, you can get from 0 to 40 points for the exam. A condition for achieving a positive grade for a discipline is to obtain a total of points (for the semester assessment and the exam together) of at least 60 points, while the exam grade is not may be less than 24 points.
