Learning outcomes
The student must know the current state of the relevant section in branch of applied physics corresponding to the subject of the bachelor's work; theoretical and applied knowledge, as well as practical information according to the direction of work of the practice base; research methods and experimental methods of applied physics used in the work. The student must be able to make an analytical review of scientific and technical literature, including periodical specialist publications in English on a given topic in the field of applied physics; perform applied research and related professional engineering work; formulate conclusions based on the results of applied research work.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
The thesis is completed at the final stage of study after studying the mandatory and optional component of the educational program and is based on the results of their study. Special attention is devoted to educational components related to the development of practical skills - coursework in electronics and scientific and industrial practice. Individual educational trajectory of the student is implemented by choosing a thesis topic that is related to optional components educational program chosen by the applicant
Course content
A bachelor's thesis is a type of independent creative work of the applicant at the final stage teaching. The topic of the work should correspond to the actual problems of the specialty "Applied physics and nanomaterials", focus on the training of a highly qualified specialist for performance of tasks in the field of applied physics, namely scientific-applied and scientific-practical research that ensures the development of information technologies in the field of optics, technology and electronics, medical and quantum radiophysics, as well as the process of developing the corresponding ones devices and systems, including analytical and diagnostic support of their serial processes production
Recommended or required reading and other learning resources/tools
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Completion of the thesis is an independent work of the applicant, but he has the right to be consulted by the supervisor and (if necessary) other scientific and pedagogical staff department. In accordance with the schedule agreed with the supervisor, the applicant must provide him with the developed material, and within the set deadline - a fully completed diploma thesis. As a result of checking the completed part of the task, the manager points out the shortcomings and errors to the executor and gives the necessary explanations for their prompt correction. A fully completed thesis is submitted by the applicant to the department by the deadline, no later than two weeks before the day defense in the Examination Board.
Assessment methods and criteria
The thesis defense consists of two stages. The first stage is preliminary protection on meetings of the department. At this stage, the student of higher education submits a fully prepared work, feedback supervisor (with evaluation), review (with evaluation). The second stage is a public defense on meetings of the Examination Commission, which conducts the final attestation of the applicant. Before defense of the thesis must be checked for the presence of borrowings. Both stages of protection take place according to the same procedure, the basis of which is the acquirer's report, which is performed using illustrative materials, usually a computer presentation. At its meeting, the department issues a preliminary assessment and allows the work to be defended on Examination commission. The evaluation of the department together with the evaluations of the manager and the reviewer can to be taken into account by the Examination Board, which issues the final grade.
