Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) study of the academic discipline "Social security and social insurance" requires students to have knowledge of the theory of social work, technology of social and pedagogical work. 2) knowledge of the basics of professional social-pedagogical activity, features of social-pedagogical work with different categories of the population. 3) the ability to analyze the content of key concepts of social work, to use different conceptual approaches to the study of social phenomena, to analyze the regulatory and legal framework regarding social work, to set professional tasks.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to provide students with the necessary knowledge about social security and social insurance and the formation of competencies necessary to perform functions related to the application of laws, principles, methods and procedures in the work of social protection of the population. Since various aspects of social work are implemented by social state and specialized services of various ministries and departments, which have their own peculiarities regarding the organization of their activities on issues of social protection, that is why social security and social insurance occupy a special place in social work. The content of the discipline is revealed in the theoretical foundations and principles of social security and the role of social insurance, state regulation of social insurance in Ukraine.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: 1. Oral answers (speech at the seminar, participation in discussions and debates, additions): 20/10 points 2. Analytical report: 15/10 points 3. Creative independent work: 15/10 points 4. Final control work: 10/6 points. Final assessment: exam Conditions for admission to the exam: It is mandatory to obtain admission to the exam to perform modular tests, to obtain the results of the assessment in total, must be at least 36 points / maximum 60 points. For students who scored a total of less than the critical-calculated minimum - 36 points - for admission to the exam are not allowed. The exam is conducted in the form of written answers on the subject of the course and the implementation of creative individual tasks, which are assessed in min.24 points / max. 40 points.
