4.To know and understand theoretical approaches to definition of culture, its manifestations and forms of existence. 5. To collect, organize and analyze information on cultural phenomena, events, historical and cultural processes. 6. To identify, verify and summarize information on various contexts of cultural practice, to determine the degree of their relevance using different sources, information, communication tools and visual technologies. 9. To analyze the effectiveness of cultural policies, technologies for the realization of cultural ideas in the context of specific parameters of their implementation. 16. To define, formulate and argue their own civic and professional position on topical social issues.

Full-time form

Before starting this course, students should know the basic provisions of the courses "History of Foreign and Ukrainian Culture", "Aesthetics", "Ethics", "Philosophy", "Religious Studies". 2. Be able to collect and interpret information on cultural phenomena, cultural processes and events; explain the essence of the phenomenon of culture, its role in human life; to apply the conceptual and categorical apparatus of theoretical culturology to study socio-cultural phenomena and processes; identify modern trends in the coexistence of different cultures in the conditions of globalization and intercultural dialogue, forecast the prospects of their development, taking into account the peculiarities of the course of cultural processes in the conditions of globalization and multiculturalism. 3. Possess elementary skills of scientific research and information discovery; a critical attitude to the socio-cultural reality and the prediction of possible development options.

Part 1. Problems of multicultural existence in the modern world. The globalization context of the functioning of a multicultural society. The problem of identity in the light of the collision of "one's own and another's". Multiculturalism as a politics of recognition. Global ethics as a sociocultural inquiry. Global ethics: main values and imperatives. Part 2. Ukrainian ethno-cultural space. Problems and prospects of the development of multiculturalism in Ukraine in the conditions of globalization. Xenophobia, racism and intolerance as phenomena of modern life. Manifestations of xenophobia and racism in modern Ukrainian society. Formation of the legal prohibition of discrimination and its main manifestations in Ukraine.

Lectures, seminars, self-study

1. Oral report, additions and participation in discussions at seminars: 12 / 24 points 2. Abstracts (referencing) of texts: 4/6 points 3. Independent work (values of national cultures and examination of the universal principles of their dialogue in the conditions of globalization): 6 / 10 points Independent work (study of genealogy as a study of European cultural originality as a factor of influence on modern domestic multicultural realities)–8 / 10 points 4. Control work - 6/10 points 5. Written exam: 24 / 40 points Final assessment in the form of exam: the final number of points in the course (maximum 100 points) is determined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester and the exam. Examination assessment is in writing. The examination ticket consists of 2 questions, each of which is evaluated on a scale of 20 points, which gives a total of 40 points for the exam.
