Learning outcomes
1. To have the skills of critical thinking, to present their own thoughts in a clear way, to make their arguments.
3. To create logically and structurally organized texts on cultural studies, according to the specialization.
8. To interpret cultural sources (material, printed, visual, artistic) using special literature and certain methods, tо reasonably present conclusions regarding their content.
14. To conduct a public discussion and maintain a dialogue on Ukrainian culture with professionals and non-specialists.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
a. Before starting this course, students should know the main stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process; basic general scientific theories and research methods; laws of logic and basic requirements for correct thinking; main works of classical Ukrainian and foreign literature; general ideas about the specifics of humanities and philosophy;
b. Be able to collect and interpret information about certain phenomena, phenomena or processes; determine patterns and features of research subjects; perform analytical work; collect and interpret scientific information, processing the main literature on philosophy and humanities, set general goals and main tasks of cultural studies;
Possess elementary skills of scientific research and information management; critical thinking and forecasting regarding historical, socio-political, economic, cultural and artistic events and phenomena; the use of foreign language professional cultural information sources
Course content
The essence and goals of rhetoric as a science. The specificity of the rhetorical approach in the study of communicative practice.
Persuasion as a basic category of rhetoric. modes of persuasion.
The concept of "will to power". "Rhetorical culture" and its importance in the development of society.
Forms (formats) of speech communication. The main genres of oratorical speeches.
Sections of classical rhetoric. Basic principles of invention as a section of rhetoric.
Basic principles of disposition as a section of rhetoric.
Basic principles of elocution as a section of rhetoric.
Basic principles of memory as sections of rhetoric.
Basic principles of action as sections of rhetoric. Relaxation.
The specifics of NPL and PR as modern communication technologies
