Learning outcomes
4. To know and understand theoretical approaches to definition of culture, its manifestations and forms of existence. 5. to organize and maintain communication with the authorities, research institutions, information and analytical services, mass media about the culture. 6. To identify, verify and summarize information on various contexts of cultural practice, to determine the degree of their relevance using different sources, information, communication tools and visual technologies. 10. to have decision making skills in management of cultural institutions or appropriate departments in unforeseen work and / or learning contexts.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before studying this course, students must know the basic stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process. 2. Be able to collect and interpret information on cultural phenomena and phenomena, cultural processes and events; apply the basic terms, categories and classifications of culturology in the analysis of socio-cultural phenomena and processes; 3. To possess basic skills of using the acquired knowledge and skills in research, teaching, cultural-organizational and cultural-educational work.
Course content
Part of the course 1. Design History. Art and design in pre-industrial production. Mass production and consumption: industrialization and design. Capitalization (USA) and aestheticization (Europe) of design. Design in the post-industrial era. Ukrainian design of the XX - XXI centuries. Design in the cultural context of Modern and Postmodern. Institutionalization in the field of design. Part of the course 2. Design Theory. Theoretical design concepts. Aesthetic, ethical and political aspects of design as a sphere of visual. Theoretical design concepts. Gender and design. Theoretical design concepts. Design and consumer society. Design in the context of globalization.
