2. To analyze, comment and summarize scientific and analytical texts of culturological format. 3. To create logically and structurally organized texts on cultural studies, according to the specialization. 4. To know and understand theoretical approaches to definition of culture, its manifestations and forms of existence. 6. To identify, verify and summarize information on various contexts of cultural practice, to determine the degree of their relevance using different sources, information, communication tools and visual technologies. 8. To interpret cultural sources (material, printed, visual, artistic) using special literature and certain methods, tо reasonably present conclusions regarding their content.

Full-time form

1. Prior to mastering the discipline, students should know the trends in the cultural and historical development of human civilization and the main approaches of theoretical cultural studies to their study, concepts, categories and methods of socio-philosophical and cultural knowledge. 2. Be able to work on the topics of cultural texts; apply the conceptual and categorical apparatus of cultural studies in the analysis of socio-cultural phenomena and processes; identify current trends in the understanding and interpretation of comparative studies, predict the prospects for its development, taking into account the peculiarities of modern trends in the development of the multicultural world.

The course "Comparative Cultural Studies" is one of the elective courses and is taught in the 8th semester of the bachelor's degree. The discipline introduces students to the peculiarities of studying comparative studies as a relevant area of cultural studies. The course defines the subject, objectives, theoretical foundations, methodology, main trends and issues of classical and modern comparative studies. The historical and theoretical peculiarities of the study, current problems of modern functioning and prospects for the development of comparative studies are considered.
